A Seasonal Scale House Clerk is responsible for performing weighing in 18‑wheelers with milo or cotton seed, as well as in module trucks with cotton round rolls. General record‑keeping and communication activities are required to keep an office functioning. Duties include filing and organizing records.
What to Expect in the Role- Answer phone at a reception desk or in a specific department and transfer calls as needed.
- Sort and deliver incoming mail and collect and send outgoing mail.
- Create documents, maintain databases, and send memos and e‑mail.
- Arrange logistics for meetings or conferences, including booking travel, making reservations, or organizing rentals.
- Run errands and make deliveries around the office or to external parties.
- Collect, file, and organize office documents, such as reports and confidential records.
- Manage digital document filing, including encrypted documents and e‑mail correspondence.
- Monitor office inventory and order supplies.
- Transcribe or take notes during meetings and write minutes, memos, and/or agendas.
- Prepare or process invoices or estimates.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including simple bookkeeping and banking tasks.
- Package and ship company materials.
- Work weekends and holidays.
- Operate a scale to weigh in 18‑wheelers with milo/cotton seed.
- Pull milo sample and test sample.
- Excellent communication abilities, including speaking, writing, and active listening.
- Effective organization and time‑management skills, such as prioritization, multitasking, and planning.
- Great customer service skills, including a personable and positive attitude.
- Good computer skills, including basic troubleshooting and using word‑processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and e‑mail software applications.
- Problem‑solving, critical thinking, and decision‑making abilities.
- Ability to work independently with little–to–no supervision.
- High attention to detail.
- Minimum of a high school diploma.
- Current driver’s license in good standing.
- Own transportation.
