Position Overview

This search is for one (Non-Tenure Track) position, a 9-month Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor, with the Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling, in the College of Education and Human Performance, beginning Spring 2027.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching Faculty members teach graduate counseling courses while coordinating the School Counseling and Guidance program. Responsibilities emphasize teaching, clinical supervision, advising, program coordination, accreditation compliance, and service. Teach graduate counseling courses in multiple modalities. Coordinate the School Counseling and Guidance program. Teach and supervise field practicum for school counselor candidates. Advise, mentor, and supervise students. Develop course materials aligned with accreditation standards.

Research

Research is not expected for this non-tenure-track position; professional development to support teaching is encouraged.

Service

Support program leadership and continuous improvement. Participate in department, college, and university service. Support CACREP and Texas certification compliance. Assist with recruitment, advising, and retention.

Required Qualifications

Required Education Master's degree;
Certified School Counselor; earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited institution (or qualifying Rehabilitation degree); 18 graduate hours in each teaching field.

Required Experience

Evidence of excellence teaching in online or hybrid formats. Experience advising and/or supervising counseling students.

Required Licenses and Certifications

Licensed Professional Counselor (Texas by hire). Certified School Counselor.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience coordinating graduate counseling programs and supporting accreditation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of CACREP and Texas certification requirements. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to teach in multiple instructional modalities. Ability to mentor students and collaborate with colleagues.
