The Field Technician is a full-time, hybrid role based in Kingsville, TX, with some work-from-home flexibility for administrative and reporting tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include inspecting, maintaining, and repairing water infrastructure such as pipelines, meters, valves, and related equipment. The role involves performing field tests, collecting data, documenting work performed, and assisting with system troubleshooting and emergency response when issues arise. The Field Technician will regularly interact with team members, contractors, and customers to coordinate service visits and support ongoing projects.
This position also requires following safety protocols, operating field tools and equipment, and completing digital reports and work orders using standard software systems.
- Ability to perform field inspection, maintenance, and basic repair of water systems, equipment, and related infrastructure.
- Skill in using hand tools, power tools, and field testing devices safely and effectively.
- Competence in documenting work, maintaining accurate records, and using computer-based systems for reporting and communication.
- Capability to read and follow technical instructions, maps, and schematics related to water distribution systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues in the field and assist in implementing practical solutions.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work with colleagues, supervisors, and customers in a professional manner.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, lift moderate weights, and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Understanding of basic safety practices, OSHA guidelines, and willingness to follow organizational safety procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical coursework or certifications in utilities, mechanics, or a related field are beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for travel to sites within the service area.
- Prior experience in utilities, field service, construction, or maintenance roles is a plus.
