Part-Time Temp Bus Aide

• Minimum hours per week: 10 hours
• Overtime pay: Time and a half (1.5x your regular pay rate) for any hours worked over 40 in a week

The Bus Monitor shall ride buses and assist driver to provide safe and orderly transportation of students with disabilities.

• Be 18 years or older.
• High School or GED Diploma is preferred.
• Be physically able to perform the required duties.
• Be able to follow verbal instructions.
• Be able to operate safety equipment and adaptive equipment.
• Be able to work well with children with disabilities.
• Drive/transport students in non-CDL district vehicles as needed.

• Assist in loading and unloading of students with disabilities according to their individual needs.
• Maintain discipline and report student discipline problems to the appropriate administrator.
• Assume responsibility for learning and adapting to each student’s special medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs.
• Communicate with teachers and parents on a daily basis about student behavior while on the bus.
• Maintain records of daily attendance.
• Assist with keeping the school bus clean and sanitized.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Maintain emotional control, ability to communicate effectively, ability to maintain effective control over groups of students.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Continual sitting, reaching and repetitive hand and arm motions. Work outside and inside; moderate exposure to extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes.
