Milnathort Kids Club

Salary: £16,306 – £17,186

Hours:

18 hours per week term‑time (2:00 pm – 6:00 pm) and 36 hours per week on a rota basis during holiday periods and in‑service days.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the day‑to‑day running of the service and deputise in the absence of the Childcare Supervisor.
  • Support the Childcare Supervisor to plan and organise the day‑to‑day operations to provide flexible childcare to children aged primary 1–14 years before and after school.
  • Provide high‑quality care and a comprehensive range of appropriate stimulating and creative activities, such as arts and crafts, storytelling, den building, physical play and organising trips and outings.
  • Work as a member of the Kids Club Team and wider School Team, contributing to children's learning and development within a safe and inclusive environment during all school hours.
  • Help maintain office procedures and systems and establish effective working relationships with children, parents, carers and other professionals to ensure the effective delivery of services.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Experience in early learning or a childcare environment with good knowledge of relevant governing bodies (SSSC, Care Inspectorate).
  • Sensitivity, patience, compassion, and a welcoming approach that creates a feeling of trust and safety for children and their families or carers.
  • Genuine interest in the development and wellbeing of children; qualities of kindness, respect, good manners and confidentiality.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills, with the ability to maintain office procedures and systems.
  • No formal qualification required to apply; however a practitioner qualification (SVQ Level 3 Social Services, HNC in Childhood Practice, etc.) is expected within 6 months of employment.
  • Will register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 3 months of starting employment.
