Responsible for cleaning, detailing, reconditioning, and preparing new and used vehicles for display, sale, and customer delivery. Ensures all vehicles meet dealership appearance standards while maintaining a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Wash and clean vehicle exteriors, including windows, door jambs, wheels, and trim.
- Vacuum vehicle interiors to remove dirt, dust, and debris.
- Clean upholstery, carpets, floor mats, dashboards, consoles, and other interior surfaces using appropriate cleaning products and equipment.
- Apply wax, polish, and protective coatings to vehicle surfaces to enhance appearance and preserve finishes.
- Clean and detail engine compartments using approved cleaning equipment and products.
- Apply conditioners and preservation agents to vinyl, leather, and other interior materials.
- Treat fabric surfaces with stain-resistant and protective products as needed.
- Remove difficult stains, contaminants, and foreign materials using specialized cleaning products and techniques.
- Restore and maintain the appearance of vehicle interiors, exteriors, engine compartments, and painted surfaces.
- Perform minor cosmetic touch-ups using paints, dyes, and other reconditioning materials.
- Inspect vehicles for dents, scratches, damaged upholstery, missing components, and other noticeable defects, reporting concerns to management.
- Replace or repair missing and defective small vehicle components when appropriate.
- Replace and repair vehicle windshields as required.
- Fuel vehicles as needed to prepare them for display, test drives, or customer delivery.
- Apply tire dressing and clean tire wells to enhance vehicle presentation.
- Maintain showroom, display, and inventory vehicles in clean and presentable condition at all times.
- Ensure all required vehicle stickers, tags, and documentation are properly displayed.
- Remove window stickers and delivery materials from sold vehicles prior to customer delivery.
- Maintain detailing equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment when handling chemicals and cleaning products.
- Operate detailing tools, equipment, and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Report safety hazards, equipment issues, and workplace concerns immediately to management.
- Assist with vehicle preparation, lot organization, and other dealership duties as assigned.
- Consistently uphold dealership standards for quality, appearance, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior automotive detailing or vehicle reconditioning experience preferred.
- Knowledge of automotive cleaning products, detailing techniques, and equipment.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including standing, bending, lifting, and working outdoors.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record preferred.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and dealership policies.
