Industrial Engineer

Infosys is seeking an Industrial Engineer. This position will interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation and Design. • Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Kinston, NC or be willing to relocate to the area.
• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, industrial, mechanical engineering or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• Min 4+ years of experience in an engineering classification / position.
• Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel and optimization of product flow.
• Maintain Action Tracker and drive the team for closure of the actions.
• Request operations team for Quality Gate details.
• Represent operations team in handover meetings.
• Identify part/material shortages ahead to reduce the impact to factory.
• Modify SAP according to travel work and maintain documentation.
• Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. Based on these studies, develop and implement optimized product flow.
• Assist facilities engineers in planning and design of facilities.
• Develop and provide time standards to the shop floor as well as standard work for operations and processes.
• Utilize analytical skills for capacity analysis, tool and equipment utilization as well as line balancing.
• Perform trend analysis of shop performance measures (KPI) to identify risk and opportunities for improvements.

• Experience in an aircraft or aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of IE tools used in production (capacity analysis, facility layout, and production improvements).
• Microsoft Office – advanced skill level.
• Knowledge of aerospace industry and standards.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. You should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
