Finance Controlling Manager

Job Description

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston, Inc. is looking for a Finance Controlling Manager to join our Finance team based in Kinston, NC.

The Financial Controlling Manager will be responsible for financial and business controlling activities for the site, reporting directly to HO Finance and acting as a key business partner for management at the Kinston site as well as stakeholders in the US and Europe. The role will manage the multi‑year financial forecast for all products, provide gap analysis of actuals vs forecast, and establish annual performance targets through the Operative Planning process.

The manager will own critical KPIs across the P&L, Balance Sheet and Free Cash Flow, work closely with Airbus Finance personnel in Americas and Europe, and ensure alignment for all planning and forecasting activities.

• Mentor and develop controlling team members fostering a continuous improvement environment.
• Act as a strategic business partner for functional business leaders at the Kinston site, providing guidance to enable optimal financial decisions.
• Serve as a focal point for leaders outside of the Kinston site, providing clear and accurate guidance to enable optimal business decisions.
• Plan and execute the yearly Annual Operating Plan and quarterly forecasts in accordance with corporate schedules and governance.
• Support the monthly and quarterly business reviews with the senior management team, providing meaningful variance analysis and a coherent business narrative to drive actions.
• Support HO Finance in delivering financial reviews to the Board of Directors, detailing performance against measurable KPIs and implementing strategic guidance from the board.
• Work with operational functional leads to capture long‑term coordinated forecasts and develop a functional‑to‑finance reporting framework to ensure accuracy and transparency in project transactions and KPI reporting.
• Support the monthly closing process and manage the income statement and balance sheet of the business, monitoring revenue and cost accruals, assets, receivables, payables, and customer advance payments.
• Monitor free cash flow of the business, including key drivers such as working capital.
• Manage cost accounting for the Kinston site, including cost‑center reporting, rate/overhead structures, and ensuring cost allocation to appropriate products.
• Support adherence to Airbus defined financial internal controls, monitor and audit regularly, and aid in internal control assessments and the annual ICSA campaign.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 10+ years of finance/controlling experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of management experience, managing stakeholders in a complex cross‑functional and geographically dispersed matrix organization.
• Strong subject‑matter expertise over the full scope of financial, planning and analysis activities, including cost accounting principles.
• Progressive and transformative mindset with strong behavioral capacities to act as a visible leader of change in both domestic and international settings.
• Master’s degree preferred but not required.
