General Manager

Overview

Reporting directly to the President, the General Manager champions the company’s operational and financial success. This senior leadership role integrates strategic vision with hands-on execution across civil construction and telecommunications. By streamlining estimating, project delivery, and field operations, the GM drives sustainable growth and profitability while maintaining high-level client partnerships. The General Manager serves as the senior operational leader, working closely with ownership to execute the company's strategic vision and ensure sustainable business performance.

Business Development & Client Relations

• Key Account Management:
  Act as the primary liaison for telecom carriers and tower companies to ensure high satisfaction and repeat business.
• Pre-Construction Leadership:
  Lead the estimating, quoting, and contract negotiation processes, leveraging site visits and technical assessments to win profitable work.
• Market Growth:
  Identify and capture new geographic or service-line opportunities to expand the company's footprint.

Financial & Strategic Management

• P&L Accountability:
  Drive profitability through annual budgeting, margin analysis, and aggressive cost-control measures.
• Financial Reporting:
  Oversee WIP reporting, job costing, and cash flow management to maintain healthy working capital.
• Strategic Vision:
  Partner with ownership to execute long-term growth plans, evaluate new technologies, and assess potential acquisitions.

Operations & Safety

• Full Lifecycle Oversight:
  Direct all civil construction and cell tower drilling operations, ensuring projects meet strict quality, budget, and safety standards.
• Technical Excellence:
  Manage specialized telecom drilling (foundations, anchors, site prep) and implement SOPs to optimize equipment utilization and field efficiency.
• Safety Culture:
  Enforce a zero-compromise safety environment, ensuring full OSHA/industry compliance through rigorous training and incident analysis.

Team Leadership

• Talent Development:
  Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing teams (PMs, superintendents, and drilling crews).
• Core Values:
  Model and enforce a culture of Integrity, Loyalty, Hunger, and High Performance through regular coaching and clear accountability.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Business (or equivalent industry experience).
• Experience:
  
  10+ years in civil construction or telecom infrastructure, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Operational Expertise:
  Strong background in drilling, foundation work, and heavy civil construction methods.
• Financial Acumen:
  Proven P&L ownership with expertise in budgeting, job costing, and WIP reporting.
• Pre-construction & Growth:
  Demonstrated success in estimating, contract negotiation, and winning new business.
• Leadership:
  Expert at managing diverse field and office teams while fostering a high-performance culture.
