Your Working EnvironmentThe Airbus Aerosystems Kinston facility sits at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, specializing in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures. Our team builds critical components for the state‑of‑the‑art Airbus A350 XWB, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar.

- Perform various processing, coating application, parts identification, repair and minor assembly in the manufacture of company products.
- The company will provide appropriate job training to enable employees to perform all necessary job functions, including:
- Developing new and improved methods of production.
- Use any job‑related equipment (hand, power tools, air tools and computers) needed to complete/process assignments.
- Perform process activities such as painting, media blasting, masking, stenciling, part identification marking, etc. to support production requirements.
- Perform hand finishing operations, preparing surfaces to be painted by using pneumatic sanders or hand methods.
- Work from blueprints, process instructions, customer specifications, job aids, work instructions, and written/verbal information.
- Work to and follow all Spirit, Customer, OSHA, ISO and Nadcap procedures.
- Access and work with material MSDS data and comply with Spirit Safety policies.
- Maintain certifications, qualifications, licenses or permits required for the work.
- Work from elevated platforms, e.g. lifts, scaffolding, ladders.
- Set up and use test equipment to ensure applications meet customer requirements by performing self‑inspections of in‑process and finished work.
- Input all required data into FAAQ database.
- Perform any pickup, rework and incorporation of changes to the product as required.
- Perform housekeeping duties, proper disposal of materials, and follow Spirit's "Clean as you Go" policy while performing duties in paint booths and designated areas.
- Maintain and keep paint mix room clean and organized at all times.
- Perform routine minor equipment maintenance as part of daily work duties (e.g. cleaning of paint equipment and routine replacement of packing, O‑rings, valves, etc.).
- Move product within the manufacturing work area, including across aisles, using shop‑assigned equipment (ovens, overhead cranes), completing transactions necessary to move product to the next operation.
