Production Manager
Job Summary
The Live Production Assistant Manager II is responsible for overseeing and managing daily live production operations, including poultry farming, animal welfare, and facility management. This role supports the Live Production Manager in ensuring efficient operations, meeting production targets, and maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and biosecurity standards. The Assistant Manager II leads production teams, manages resources, and implements process improvements to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily live production activities, including flock management, feeding, animal welfare, and facility operations.
- Assist in developing and implementing production plans, ensuring alignment with business goals and operational targets.
- Supervise and manage production teams, providing training, performance evaluations, and operational guidance.
- Monitor production metrics, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, animal welfare standards, biosecurity protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with maintenance, feed mill, and transportation teams to ensure seamless operations across production facilities.
- Manage inventory of feed, equipment, and supplies, ensuring availability and cost control.
- Respond to operational challenges, including equipment breakdowns, health issues, and environmental factors, implementing timely solutions.
- Prepare and present production reports to senior management, highlighting performance, challenges, and improvement plans.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the production teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science, Agricultural Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in live production or poultry operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of poultry production processes, animal welfare standards, and biosecurity protocols.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and develop employees.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and operational efficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and production management systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to typical risks of injury in an office environment.
