Airbus Aerosystems Kinston, Inc. is looking for a Machine Operator to join our Operations department based in Kinston, NC.

Our team at Airbus Aerosystems Kinston manufactures crucial aircraft components. On the shop floor you’ll be surrounded by individuals who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure and quality.

The Airbus Aerosystems Kinston facility sits at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, specializing in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures. Our team builds critical components for the Airbus A350 XWB, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar.

• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to make parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determine sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; use machinist tools and precision measuring instruments; perform standard shop computations; lay out stock for machining; assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment and determine material and parts required.
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

• Must be willing and able to work any shift
• Workkeys Assessment completion OR High School Diploma/GED

• Vision:
  Daily ability to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment and read documents and engineering drawings.
• Hearing:
  Ability to participate in conversations and hear on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
• Speaking:
  Ability to speak in conversations and meetings.
• Carrying:
  Ability to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs weekly.
• Lifting:
  Ability to lift up to 30lbs/14kgs weekly.
• Pushing / Pulling:
  Capable of pushing and pulling small office furniture and some equipment several times a month.
• Sitting:
  Ability to sit for long periods in meetings and at a computer.
• Standing, Squatting / Kneeling, Walking:
  Ability to stand, squat or kneel as required in production and office areas, including uneven surfaces.
• Travel:
  Occasional travel once or twice a year.
• Personal Protective Equipment: PPE includes safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, and/or protective gloves as required by site.
