Job DescriptionAirbus Aerosystems Kinston is looking for a Composite Technician to join our team based in Kinston, NC.
Team OverviewOur team at Airbus Aerosystems Kinston manufactures crucial aircraft components. On the shop floor you’ll be surrounded by individuals who are passionate about aviation and skilled in electrical, structure and quality.
Working EnvironmentThe Airbus Aerosystems Kinston facility specializes in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures for the Airbus A350 XWB, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar.

- Lays out, assembles, pre‑fits, and bonds metal, composite or laminate fabrications, assemblies, parts, skins or equipment
- Follows engineering and manufacturing specifications and orders to determine parts to be bonded and the temperature and pressure required
- Cuts parts or materials to size
- Operates autoclave, hydraulic presses and ovens to complete the bonding cycle
- Sands, burrs and smoothes over areas
- Applies sealing resins to cut or exposed edges
- Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with controlled procedures
- Performs complicated rework or repair as needed
- Utilizes lay‑up tools, obtains information from work orders, and uses shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments
- Verifies work meets work instruction and engineering specifications
- May complete other duties and responsibilities as required by leadership; training and certification provided
- Must be willing and able to work any shift
- Workkeys assessment completion OR high school diploma/GED
- Daily vision and hearing adequate for computer, documentation and conversation
- Daily ability to operate office and production equipment, including hydraulic lifts
- Can carry, lift, push, pull and stand for extended periods; can handle up to 30 lbs (14 kg)
- Daily ability to sit, stand, walk, squat/kneel and work at heights up to 40 feet; use of PPE required (safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, respirators, gloves)
