The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day oversight of production operations, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with quality standards. This role provides direct supervision to Production Associates and program participants, supporting workflow execution across packaging, kitting, product assembly, subcontract manufacturing, and community‑based job sites. The Production Supervisor works closely with the Production Manager to implement production plans, meet contract deadlines, and maintain a structured, supportive work environment that promotes skill development and meaningful vocational experiences.
We are currently seeking a full‑time Production Supervisor to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities Production Operations & Execution- Supervise daily production activities to ensure timely completion of assigned projects.
- Coordinate workflow, staffing, and task assignments based on production schedules.
- Monitor productivity and ensure adherence to established work standards and processes.
- Assist in implementing work measurement tools and productivity tracking.
- Ensure accuracy and quality in packaging, kitting, labeling, and assembly tasks.
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and communicate improvement recommendations to the Production Manager.
- Provide hands‑on support on the production floor as needed.
- Enforce quality standards to ensure all products meet customer and contractual requirements.
- Conduct routine quality checks and address defects or inconsistencies.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including OSHA requirements.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Support documentation efforts related to production tracking and compliance requirements.
- Directly supervise Production Associates and program participants.
- Provide daily coaching, instruction, and performance feedback.
- Train staff and participants on job tasks, safety procedures, and quality expectations.
- Promote a positive, structured, and inclusive work environment.
- Support vocational development by reinforcing work skills, habits, and accountability.
- Collaborate with program staff to support participant success and engagement.
- Assist with inventory control of raw materials, supplies, and finished goods.
- Ensure materials are available and properly staged for production activities.
- Track usage and report shortages or discrepancies to the Production Manager.
- Maintain organization of tools, supplies, and workspace.
- Communicate production status, challenges, and staffing needs to the Production Manager.
- Maintain accurate daily production logs and reports.
- Escalate issues related to quality, safety, or workflow disruptions in a timely manner.
- Support implementation of new processes, contracts, or workflow changes.
- Coordinate transportation of materials and finished goods between the production facility and customer locations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, or industrial environments.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, industrial management, operations management, or related field preferred.
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Experience working in vocational, workforce development, or human services settings is a plus.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
