Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is looking for an Assembly First Level Manager to join our team based in Kinston, NC. The Assembly First Level Manager ensures the manufacture of completed units by overseeing activities such as assembly of components into subassemblies; mating or joining of structural assemblies (metallic and nonmetallic); installation of systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic) that are fastened with screws, bolts, rivets, solder, crimping or swaging, connectors, or adhesives;

and testing with mechanical, electrical, and electronic test equipment. Interfaces with engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to meet product requirements and customer acceptance.

The Airbus Aerosystems Kinston facility sits at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, specializing in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures. Our team builds critical components for the state-of-the-art Airbus A350 XWB, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar.

• Lead team in developing solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
• Lead a team of represented employees in the GMF assembly area assembling complex aerostructures, to meet production requirements and customer acceptance.

Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor Degree- OR 4 years of experience
• At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working with multiple cross-functional groups (Quality, Assembly, Procurement, Supply Chain, Machining, etc.)
• At least 5 years experience in a leadership/management role
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to articulate complex issues to others.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters is essential.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal skills.
• 5% domestic/international travel
• US Citizenship
