Quality Multi‑Function Manager, FAB – Airbus Aerosystems Kinston

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston seeks a detail‑oriented Quality Manager to lead the Product Inspection team on the production line of the Airbus A350 XWB composite center fuselage and wing spar. The manager will ensure full compliance with aviation Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS), and FOD programs, actively identifying process gaps and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the quality organization, hiring, training, and mentoring of quality personnel.
- Establish, oversee, and enforce quality processes, policies, and best practices.
- Coordinate cross‑functional quality integration with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.
- Review production schedules, allocate work, and ensure timely completion of quality activities.
- Interface with suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies to communicate quality objectives and results.
- Develop and communicate organizational vision, quality policies, and process improvement initiatives.
- Provide coaching, training, and technical expertise to internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead quality investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action implementation.
- 5–10 years of experience in quality assurance, control, or manufacturing operations within the aviation industry, preferably with manufacturing engineering or methods.
- Strong knowledge of aviation QMS, SMS, and FOD programs in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in MES, QMS, and statistical software such as Minitab or JMP.
- Demonstrated expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to train and coach teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
- Willingness to travel up to 5% domestically or internationally.
- Valid U.S. work authorization; U.S. visa sponsorship not available.
- Associate’s or higher degree in aviation, quality assurance, or related field preferred; certifications in quality management or aviation safety are a plus.
