Location: Kinston, NC

Duration: 3 months + Contract

Rate: $44 hourly

Per Diem: $110/week

Duties
  • Detail‑oriented and highly organized aviation Quality Inspector will join the Product Inspection team.
  • Monitor full adherence to manufacturing and quality processes to ensure compliance with strict aviation standards.
  • Use predetermined methods and specifications to inspect visual and dimensional aspects of in‑process and finished products such as electronic units, subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies, mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.
  • Employ a variety of measuring devices.
  • Accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
  • Work from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawings, or inspection instructions and checklists.
  • Monitor and verify quality per statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Perform line clearances after each lot to remove all materials from the previous lot.
  • Utilize drawings/CATIA, documents, process specifications, quality control requirements, software programs, and test procedures to inspect parts, subassemblies, and assemblies.
  • Dimensionally inspect parts or assemblies.
  • Initiate and document non‑conforming materials, hardware, parts, assemblies or portions thereof per specifications, processes, and procedures.
  • Inspect vendor, subcontractor or company parts and assemblies.
  • Follow a predetermined sequence of work.
  • Prepare and maintain quality records.
  • Support product flow by cross‑training and assisting other employees, including cross‑training in the Assembly Technician function.
  • May be asked to complete other duties and responsibilities as required by leadership, with training and certification provided.
Technical Skills
  • Precision measurement tools.
  • Blueprint and drawings interpretation.
  • First Article Inspection.
Required Qualifications
  • Willing and able to work any shift.
  • Willing and able to work overtime.
  • Willing and able to work from motorized elevated platforms.
  • Work Keys Assessment completion or High School Diploma/GED.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years' experience in quality assurance, quality control, manufacturing operations, manufacturing engineering / methods, or a similar role within the aviation industry.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation Quality Management Systems, Safety Management Systems, and FOD programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with internal teams through all levels of the organization and functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • High degree of flexibility and initiative.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, specifically in English, required for operating in a multicultural and multifunctional environment.
  • Proficient in Manufacturing tools (MES) and quality management systems (QMS) used in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with aerospace‑specific tools such as SAP and MES systems.
Education
  • Associate's degree in Aviation, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred.
