Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Engineering Department based in Kinston, NC. The role involves working on complex, highly engineered aircraft components, contributing throughout the product life cycle from development to manufacturing and support.

• Develop processes, systems, and equipment to uphold quality, reliability, and system safety standards for company- or procured products and services.
• Perform problem‑solving: root cause analysis, recommend and support corrective actions to reduce or eliminate nonconformance to design specifications.
• Collaborate with the team to develop Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and control plans.
• Provide review and analysis of quality system design to ensure integrity of decisions impacting products and services.
• Analyze contractual, product definition, and specification requirements to develop or modify methods, procedures, and metrics for achieving quality standards.
• Evaluate and provide dispositions for nonconforming materials, parts, and equipment.
• Conduct scientific evaluations, audits, and analyses.
• Test and approve products, processes, equipment, and measurement systems.
• Ensure processes incorporate configuration management and participate in design and product reviews to meet quality, reliability, safety, and business objectives.
• Conduct research, benchmarking, and analysis to improve process capability and product quality.
• Support corrective action implementation to address nonconformance issues.
• Interface with employees, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Utilize statistical methodologies to maintain or enhance safety, reliability, and process capability levels.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• 3–5 years of experience in aerospace, quality, engineering, or a related role.
• Proficiency in technical writing.
• Proficient in root cause corrective action (RCCA).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to articulate complex issues to others.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters is essential.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal skills.

• Experience and enthusiasm for industrial assets and technologies.
• Interest in composite technologies.

• Onsite: 100%.
• Vision: daily ability to read computer screens, documents, reports, and engineering drawings.
• Hearing: daily ability to participate in conversations and hear floor alerts.
• Speaking: daily ability to speak in meetings and deliver information.
• Equipment Operation: ability to operate office equipment and some production tools.
• Carrying: weekly ability to carry up to 30 lbs (14 kg) of documents, tools, or equipment.
• Lifting: weekly ability to lift up to 30 lbs (14 kg).
• Pushing/Pulling: weekly ability to push or pull small office furniture and tools.
• Sitting: daily ability to sit for long periods in meetings or at a computer.
• Squatting/Kneeling: weekly ability to squat or kneel to retrieve items on low shelving.
• Standing: daily ability to stand for discussions.
• Travel: 5% domestic/international travel.
• Walking: daily ability to walk through office and production areas.
• Personal Protective Equipment: required PPE includes safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, and/or gloves as required by site or customer.

ABET‑accredited Engineering degree.
