The Public Safety Specialist is a non-sworn, unarmed Public Safety team member responsible for providing a welcoming, professional, and safety-focused presence at designated hospital access points and within the Public Safety Communications Center.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in customer service, healthcare, communications, dispatch, public safety support, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, staff, and emergency personnel.
- Ability to remain calm and communicate clearly during stressful or emergency situations.
- Basic computer and technology skills.
- Ability to learn and operate assigned communications, weapons detection, access control, camera, and reporting systems.
- Ability to successfully complete required departmental orientation and training.
