Heavy Truck Mechanic

Job Description

Perform diagnostics, repair and rebuild of all types of grading equipment, paving equipment and dump trucks. Perform diesel engine repairs, diesel engine rebuilds and hydraulic systems repairs. Must be able to work in both shop and field environments.

• Diagnose and repair engine, hydraulics and electronics on heavy equipment.
• Work in shop or on the field as required.
• Use and maintain personal tools for equipment repair.
• Work long hours, including nights and weekends.

• 5 to 10 years of experience in diesel engine repair and rebuild.
• Valid NC driver license with acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to learn and be a team player.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain good attendance.
• Ability to follow safety rules and policies.

• Standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching and squatting.
• Regularly lift 25 or more pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Work full days up to 12–15 hours in hot or cold temperatures.
• Work nights and weekends as required.
