Functional Area
Position Purpose
The Receiving and Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing all inventory‑related tasks, maintaining accurate records of procurements, and coordinating the activities and operations of the receiving area within the warehouse.

Scope of Responsibilities and Duties- Maintain consistent stock levels by ordering inventory as quantities decline, within pre‑authorized limits.
- Manage and maintain warehouse inventory and electronic inventory databases.
- Document related inventory activities and complete required forms and reports.
- Oversee and manage products being received into the warehouse.
- Perform conformity checks including inspections and matching packing slips.
- Accurately control and track all physical inventory.
- Establish and maintain backup suppliers for high‑demand items.
- Participate in daily audits and inventory processes; research and resolve discrepancies.
- Review inventory reports and order patterns to identify items requiring automatic or recurring deliveries.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with vendors.
- Maintain accurate records of the quantity, type, and value of materials, equipment, and supplies stocked.
- Perform and oversee processing and routing of invoices.
- Conduct frequent spot checks and partial physical inventory audits.
- Operate a forklift as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory control.
- Experience using computerized inventory systems is required.
- Forklift operator certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
- Proficient keyboarding and data entry skills.
- Strong understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to build and maintain professional vendor relationships.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage workflow effectively.
