Maintenance Engineer – Electrical and Mechanical

Employment Details

• Regular days – 37 hours per week (basic hours)
• Salary: £20 to £21 per hour + overtime + insurance, depending on experience

  07:30am – 04:30pm Monday – Thursday; 07:30am – 02:00pm every other Friday (9‑day fortnight). Some ad‑hoc overtime as required by the maintenance role.

• 24 days holiday per year
• Two basic annual salary death‑in‑service benefits
• Sickness insurance (subject to acceptance/conditions) of 75% of basic pay for up to 12 months
• 9‑day fortnight – many long weekends
• Weekday overtime at time + 1/3
• Saturday overtime at time + 1/2

• Ensure all health and safety maintenance requirements are met and scheduled
• Handle breakdowns, planned maintenance and improvement projects
• Electrical upgrades / modernisation / rewiring
• Electrical testing
• Machinery build and installations
• In‑house power press maintenance (training provided – power press experience is an advantage but not essential)
• Use initiative and work independently in a supportive team environment

• At least 5 years in an electrical maintenance role, or equivalent qualification
• Electrical – 17/18th edition licence essential
• Mechanical aptitude essential; role is electrically biased
• Enthusiasm for hands‑on electrical and mechanical engineering and problem solving

This is not an office job. You will be working in a hands‑on setting where you can get your hands dirty. We value confidence in managing your own workload without constant direction.
