Position: MFG Functional Technician II, Amazon Leo

Amazon Leo Satellite Technician

Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we've designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Amazon Leo satellites.

Key job responsibilities:

  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures
  • Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
  • Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, multimeters, optical inspection devices, micrometers and calipers
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions
  • Run functional and environmental testing on units
  • Use computer software programs for conducting tests
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient, safe and effective work environment

Additional requirements:

  • Must be able to work Sun-Wed from 6am-4:30pm
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive assembly operations
  • Able to climb and down ladders, work in tight spaces, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
  • Able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines

The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $33.50/hour and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits are provided. This information is provided per the Washington State Pay Transparency Act. Base pay information is based on market location.
