Overview
Transpo Group is seeking a highly motivated Senior Multimodal Transportation Planner to design, manage, and lead complex multimodal transportation planning projects within the Public Planning Business Unit. The role requires balancing project delivery with business development, ensuring high‑quality, on‑time deliverables, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Responsibilities- Manage complex multimodal transportation planning projects, including long‑range plans, active transportation plans, transit plans, climate resiliency plans, and corridor studies.
- Provide direction and oversight to junior staff to ensure high‑quality, on‑time deliverables.
- Serve as the primary client‑facing team member, coordinating stakeholder engagement and implementation‑focused planning.
- Support business development through proposal development, client engagement, and relationship management.
- Handle technical and contractual responsibilities across assigned projects while balancing delivery demands with the firm’s long‑term growth objectives.
- Delegate work to junior staff and manage workload and quality control.
- Prepare or manage the preparation of plans, studies, and presentations for long‑range, short‑range, and safety action plans, as well as active transportation, transit, multimodal systems, and corridor studies.
- Lead public engagement and stakeholder efforts for multimodal transportation planning projects.
- Review work performed by other members for quality assurance.
- Determine project budget requirements for personnel, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the work.
- Create strategic business‑development plans and lead proposal efforts.
- Market and sell Transpo’s services to new and existing clients.
- Seek partnerships with other consultants or contractors to benefit the business model.
- Develop a network of professional contacts and clients, partnering with senior staff to build relationships.
- Contribute to the company’s sales and backlog goals.
- Lead corporate or organizational strategic initiatives with other senior leaders.
- 7+ years of experience in multimodal transportation planning or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in planning, engineering, transportation, or a related discipline (BA, BS, or BSCE).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated project management and relationship‑building skills.
