Position SummaryThe Creatio Center for Technology, Media, and Design at Northwest University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position to begin in August 2026. Candidates must possess a meaningful commitment to Jesus Christ, the Church, and the Gospel. We are seeking someone with education and experience in Film Production and a winsome, encouraging, and culturally engaged faith.
Essential Functions- Teach courses in Creatio programs for Film and Media Studies.
- Advise and mentor Creatio students in academic projects and degree progress.
- Work with Creatio faculty to develop and revise curriculum as needed.
- Participate in the governance functions of the university as assigned.
- Engage in an active agenda of creative professional work and/or scholarship related to his or her field of study.
- Integrate faith and learning in the classroom, guiding students to think critically and ethically about the impact of media in culture.
The successful candidate:
- Holds an MA or MFA in Film Production, Cinema Studies, Media Arts, or a related field;
PhD preferred. - Has at least three years of professional industry experience in film and/or broadcasting; credited roles and workflow expertise preferred.
- Has at least 1-2 years university-level teaching experience, with a demonstrated
- record of successful teaching of film production skills, concepts, and critical thinking.
- Embodies a demonstrated, vibrant evangelical faith compatible with the mission of Northwest University, with willingness to apply a faith-based worldview to course design, instruction, and advising.
- Indicates a commitment to helping students to achieve overarching film production program outcomes and learning objectives specific to the courses taught.
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with students, faculty, university staff, and the general constituency of the University.
- Models best instructional practices in the classroom, on-line, clinical and/or skills lab setting.
- Continually develops professional skills in aspiring students through coaching, modeling, evaluation, feedback, and direct instruction.
Dependent on education and experience and based upon the established faculty salary schedule starting at the respective professor rank. $54,508–$68,134
