Position Summary

The School of Education at Northwest University invites applications for a full-time faculty position that includes both instructional and administrative responsibilities. The faculty member will contribute to the School's mission by teaching graduate-level education courses, supporting program operations, and participating in academic planning and assessment activities.

Responsibilities include teaching up to 24 credits per year, advising graduate students, collaborating with faculty and assisting with administrative functions that ensure the quality and effectiveness of the School's educational programs. At the discretion of the Dean, the incumbent may also be assigned oversight of one or more graduate or undergraduate programs, which will include additional administrative responsibilities related to program coordination, faculty support, and student success.

The position combines teaching, advising, and leadership to advance excellence in educator preparation and student success.

Essential Functions

* Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the School of Education.

* Provide academic advising and counseling to candidates from enrollment to graduation.

* Monitor program outcomes, assessment data, and accreditation compliance, providing reports and recommendations as needed.

* Collaborate with the Dean and School of Education faculty to maintain program quality and ensure alignment with state certification standards.

* Develop new courses as needed in candidate's area of research and teaching.

* Participate in the governance functions of the university as assigned.

* Engage in scholarship alongside his/her teaching, related to his/her field of communication.

* This is a nine-month faculty appointment distributed over a twelve-month period and may include occasional summer responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required:

* Master's degree, with intent to complete doctorate in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field.

* Experience in K-12 teacher preparation or higher education program coordination.

* Demonstrated success in advising or mentoring students.

* Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.

* Ability to lead faculty, manage multiple priorities, and work collaboratively across institutional units.

* Commitment to Christian higher education and alignment with Northwest University's mission and Statement of Faith.

Preferred:

* Doctoral degree (Ed.D., Ph.D., or equivalent) in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field.

* State Teaching Certification.

* Experience supervising and developing adjunct or field faculty.

* Experience managing accreditation or program assessment processes.

* Familiarity with teacher licensure standards and state certification processes.

* Experience collaborating with K-12 schools and field placement systems.

Compensation

$54,508-$68,134 Dependent on education and experience. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and aligned with the university's administrative faculty salary scale.
