Northwest University is seeking a collaborative, student‑centered, and mission‑driven Assistant/Associate Provost. This position plays a key role in shaping the academic direction of the university by supporting essential academic services, fostering strong campus partnerships, and advancing institutional excellence. The role contributes to initiatives that strengthen academic programs, enhance the student experience, and uphold Northwest University’s commitment to faith and learning.

The ideal candidate is an academic leader with a deep commitment to assessment, student learning, and faculty development, and who thrives in a Christ‑centered higher education environment. Candidates must demonstrate a meaningful commitment to Jesus Christ, the church, and the Gospel.

Essential Functions
  • Lead organizational and academic assessment efforts by directing departmental work, supporting academic assessment activities, and providing training.
  • Ensure institutional compliance with accrediting bodies and regulatory requirements, serving as the Accreditation Liaison Officer to the NWCCU.
  • Collaborate with Student Services and academic units, including Academic Success & Advising, the Registrar’s Office, the Library, and International Education. At the Associate Provost level, the role additionally includes supervisory responsibility for the directors of these areas.
  • Enhance student learning and the student experience, including leading support initiatives for various student populations.
  • Direct campus‑wide survey administration and data reporting.
  • Assist in developing new academic programs and initiatives, providing guidance and oversight as needed.
  • Assist with faculty development and coordinate programming for first‑ and second‑year faculty, in collaboration with the Provost.
Qualifications
  • Earned doctorate preferred; master’s degree with sufficient academic and professional qualifications considered.
  • Involvement in higher education leadership; 3–5 years preferred.
  • Background supporting faculty and students; prior service as an academic administrator, full‑time faculty member, or student services leader preferred.
  • Academic qualifications commensurate with appointment to the Northwest University faculty.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and collegial Christ‑centered work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively across varied teams.
  • A demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Northwest University.
Compensation

Based on education and experience, this position has a pay range of $85,000 to $96,000.
