Northwest University seeks a qualified candidate for a full-time Principal Faculty position in the School of Physician Assistant Medicine. This role integrates didactic instruction and clinical education, supporting the development and delivery of the PA curriculum in alignment with ARC-PA accreditation standards
.
The successful candidate will collaborate with program faculty and staff to design, implement, and evaluate curriculum, support student learning and advising, and assist in program operations.
This position includes responsibilities in both didactic instruction and clinical education
, including clinical site development, student assessment, and participation in accreditation activities.
The principal faculty member reports to the Dean/Program Director of the PA Program and participates fully in the academic, operational, and mission-driven life of the university.

Position Flexibility: This full-time position combines clinical and didactic faculty responsibilities. The role may be considered for division into two half-time (0.5 FTE) appointments—one clinical and one didactic—for qualified candidates seeking part-time employment.
Essential FunctionsDidactic Education Responsibilities
- Provide classroom and laboratory instruction within the PA curriculum.
- Design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate courses and curriculum.
- Participate in curriculum sequencing and assessment to ensure alignment with ARC-PA standards.
- Evaluate student academic performance and provide formative and summative feedback.
- Participate in Observed Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) and other competency assessments.
- Provide academic advising and mentoring to PA students.
- Participate in the development and revision of Program mission, Program competencies, and Program goals.
- Ensure the availability of remedial instruction for students requiring academic support.
- Contribute to program evaluation and continuous quality improvement activities.
Clinical Education Responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation and evaluation of the clinical phase curriculum.
- Support clinical site development and maintenance.
- Conduct clinical site visits as needed to ensure quality educational experiences.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Education Manager and Program Director to maintain ARC-PA compliance for clinical education requirements.
- Assist with monitoring PAEA End-of-Rotation exams and other clinical student assessments.
- Participate in clinical student callback days and clinical skill assessments.
- Review and analyze clinical phase outcomes and assessment data.
Program and University Service
- Participate in ARC-PA accreditation activities and program documentation.
- Serve on the Admissions Committee and assist with applicant selection.
- Participate in student recruitment activities.
- Serve on the PA Operations Committee and other program committees.
- Participate in university governance as assigned.
- Contribute to department, college, and university committees and other university service commitments.
- Perform other duties in support of the PA program as assigned by the Dean or Program Director.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed Physician Assistant/Associate (PA-C) or MD/DO.
- Current or previous/emeritus board certification in the candidate’s field.
- Minimum three years of clinical practice experience as a PA-C or Physician.
- Eligibility for licensure in the state of Washington.
