Position Summary
Northwest University is seeking a full-time (12-month), tenure-track faculty member within the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. This assistant/associate professor position focuses on teaching graduate counseling courses (on-campus and online) primarily in Northwest University's Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health (CMHC) Program, supporting students in their development as counselors, helping to maintain the program's CACREP accreditation and participating in the life of the university through committee and other service work.
Faculty members have the opportunity to become members of a vibrant Christian community, that is dedicated to spiritual vitality, academic excellence and empowered engagement with human need.
Faculty members are also expected to fully participate in university life including committee work and other institution activities.
Faculty: full-time tenure track position. Contract renewal contingent on performance.
Qualifications
* Has an earned Ph.D., Ed.D., or candidacy status in Counseling Education preferably from a CACREP accredited program;
* Possesses a deep, personal commitment to Jesus Christ, a Spirit-filled life, and demonstrates integration of faith and learning;
* Is licensed as a LMHC in Washington State (or is license eligible in Washington State).
* Has had successful teaching experience at the university level;
* Has knowledge about state licensure standards for LMHC (preferred);
* Is knowledgeable about CACREP standards (preferred).
* Is committed to establishing and maintaining positive mentoring relationships with a diverse student body;
* Is committed to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with faculty, staff, and the general constituency of Northwest University;
* Is committed to intercultural education and multicultural counseling and is committed to integrating faith into the counseling curriculum;
* Is committed to the development of skills in his/her students by coaching, modeling, and direct instruction;
* Has commitment to the values of NU and the CSBS vision;
* Demonstrates commitment to maintaining a safe work environment free of harassment, violence, and unlawful discrimination;
* Communicates effectively, gets along well with co-workers, and deals effectively and professionally with colleagues; and
* Has a clear counseling identity as evidenced by memberships in professional counseling organizations; professional counseling credentials and sustained professional engagement.
Compensation
Dependent on education and experience and based upon the established faculty salary schedule starting at the respective professor rank. ($81,463-$91,735)
