Job Title

Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) is seeking applicants for a part-time faculty position. Located just outside of Seattle, WA, LWTech is the only public institute of technology in the state of Washington. LWTech offers 12 bachelor's degrees, 42 associate degrees, and 70 professional certificates in 41 areas of study, including STEM-focused programs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. LWTech serves the Eastside and is located within the city of Kirkland, which is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Washington.

Kirkland is home to companies such as GoDaddy, Google, Astronics and Evergreen Health, and the college is within minutes from Microsoft and Nintendo.

• Plan and develop a variety of instruction objectives and experiences appropriate to the program goals
• Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments
• Develop and teach to the objectives of the approved curriculum
• Develop and teach lessons which foster and support cultural diversity and non-discrimination
• Teach productive and constructive study skills to students
• Develop classroom and lab procedures in conformance with identified policies and procedures
• Maintain appropriate records which indicate student progress and meet college requirements
• Follow disciplinary procedures as prescribed and deal consistently and fairly with all students
• Design learning experiences for the unique characteristics of individual adult students through classes, individual instruction and self-directed learning
• Post the class syllabus and students' grades via the online course system (currently Canvas)

• 2 years related work experience
• College teaching experience preferred
• Industry certifications preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must have sensitivity and ability to successfully interact with diverse populations
• Due to the diversity of the college population, we encourage applicants who are multilingual
• Previous experience with an online course system (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Sakai, Moodle) preferred

Compensation Placement on the faculty salary schedule is based on an individual assessment of education and experience. The salary for part time faculty contracts shall be based upon the number of credits assigned the faculty member, the type of class taught, and the rates contained in the part time faculty salary schedule currently in effect and labeled Appendix

B. Step 1 ranges from $738.38 - $2,335.13 Step 2 ranges from $819.15 - $2,457.46 Step 3 ranges from $835.95 - $2,507.85 Step 4 ranges from $893.51 - $2,680.54 Step 5 ranges from $916.30 - $2,748.90 Step 6 ranges from $957.08 - $2,871.24

Conditions of employment include the requirement of official transcripts/certifications upon employment, job offers contingent upon successful completion of background/reference checks, and proof of authorization to work in the United States will be required at the time of hire. LWTech does not currently sponsor HB-1 visas. Other conditions that may apply will be detailed upon the offer of employment. Applicants considered for positions at the College may be required to submit to a background check as a condition of employment.
