Part Time Instructors

Lake Washington Institute of Technology is seeking qualified part time instructors. All instructor positions require two years work experience; college teaching experience and industry certifications are preferred. This recruitment is to establish an applicant pool for future part-time faculty vacancies. The college hires part-time faculty on a quarter by quarter basis, dependent on enrollment. • Plan and develop a variety of instruction objectives and experiences appropriate to the program goals
• Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments
• Develop and teach to the objectives of the approved curriculum
• Develop and teach lessons which foster and support cultural diversity and non-discrimination
• Teach productive and constructive study skills to students
• Develop classroom and lab procedures in conformance with identified policies and procedures
• Maintain appropriate records which indicate student progress and meet college requirements
• Follow disciplinary procedures as prescribed and deal consistently and fairly with all students
• Design learning experiences for the unique characteristics of individual adult students through classes, individual instruction and self-directed learning
• Post the class syllabus and students' grades via the online course system (currently Canvas)

• Masters degree in adult education, TESOL, or a foreign language
• 2 years related work experience
• 2 years teaching experience; college teaching experience preferred
• Industry certifications preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must have sensitivity and ability to successfully interact with diverse populations
• Due to the diversity of the college population, we encourage applicants who are multilingual
• Previous experience with an online course system (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Sakai, Moodle) preferred

Compensation Placement on the faculty salary schedule is based on an individual assessment of education and experience. The salary for part time faculty contracts shall be based upon the number of credits assigned the faculty member, the type of class taught, and the rates contained in the part time faculty salary schedule currently in effect and labeled Appendix

B. Step 1 ranges from $738.38 - $2,335.13 Step 2 ranges from $819.15 - $2,457.46 Step 3 ranges from $835.95 - $2,507.85 Step 4 ranges from $893.51 - $2,680.54 Step 5 ranges from $916.30 - $2,748.90 Step 6 ranges from $957.08 - $2,871.24
