Role Description

The Infant Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Totem Lake, WA, responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for infants. Daily responsibilities include providing responsive care, following individualized routines, and supporting developmental milestones through age-appropriate activities. The Infant Teacher will implement curriculum, observe and document each child's progress, and maintain a clean, organized classroom that adheres to health and safety standards.

The role involves building trusting relationships with children and families, communicating daily updates, and collaborating with center leadership and teammates to ensure consistent, high-quality care. The Infant Teacher also participates in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Early Childhood Development and Child Development, with the ability to support infants' physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
  • Experience in Teaching and Curriculum Development, including implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for infants.
  • Effective Communication skills for engaging with children, families, and colleagues, including clear, respectful, and timely updates about children's daily experiences.
  • Relevant education such as a high school diploma or equivalent; coursework or a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with infants in a child care, preschool, or early learning setting is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to meet state and local licensing requirements, including background checks, health clearances, and mandated trainings.
  • Demonstrated reliability, patience, empathy, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications or obtain them as required.
