Overview
Echodyne offers the world’s first compact solid-state true beam-steering radar for a wide range of industries and applications. Our high-performance radars work in all weather and are designed for autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft & drones, and security of borders, critical infrastructure, and smart cities. Echodyne combines metamaterials technology with software to create a radar sensor with high performance at commercial price points.
Echodyne serves Automotive, Transportation, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Border Security, Smart Cities, UAS, and Airspace Management including Urban Air Mobility (UTM).
The Antenna Production Engineering team will own the maintenance and evolution of all antenna and radar test & measurement instruments. Members of this team will ensure that ATP instruments maintain operational uptime to support production targets, identify and lead upgrades, and work with the manufacturing team as subject-matter experts supporting expansions of Echodyne’s production facilities. The team lead will apply technical expertise and strong organizational skills to guide a small, dedicated team responsible for this function.
REQUIREDSKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- Excellent applied understanding of antennas and antenna measurement theory.
- Hands-on experience measuring antennas or radiating RF devices at microwave and/or millimeter-wave frequencies.
- Understanding data analysis related to antenna measurement, including pattern analysis, side-lobes, and near/far field transformations.
- Good understanding of RF and microwave complex instruments covering their design, assembly, and control.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex mixed-signal (RF, analog, & digital) measurement instruments.
- Experience with writing code for control of test/measurement instruments, robotics, or similar complex hardware (MATLAB or Python experience having the strongest direct applicability).
- Experience working closely with manufacturing/production - teams in either commercial or defense industries – ideally in a company/environment with rapidly increasing production targets.
- Experience in any mechanical engineering CAD programs
- Aptitude for building things, and hands-on proactive approach to what needs to get done.
- Experience managing a small engineering team of direct reports.
The antenna production engineering team will play a key role in Echodyne’s growth by owning the production instruments for our MESA antenna assemblies. Candidates will be excited to work in an operational environment that may include time-pressure to meet production targets, but where weekly outcomes demonstrate the impact on safety and security.
QUALIFICATIONS- BS Degree or higher in Engineering or Physics
- 5 or more years of experience in antennas or antenna-measurement
The pay range for this position is $137,196 - $205,382 annually.
