About the Role
The Data Center Global Program Manager oversees global upgrade and retrofit projects for critical and MEPS infrastructure across a client’s data center portfolio. The PM leads complex, multi‑disciplinary initiatives, identifies program requirements, engages stakeholders, and manages projects through their full lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Administer the upgrades/retrofit construction project program across the data center portfolio, leading multiple projects at one time across global locations.
- Develop program budget, cash flow and commitments, and secure approvals from the client’s Cost Control team.
- Lead cross‑functional teams and manage simultaneous programs with competing priorities.
- Engage technical experts and key stakeholders to initiate new programs and develop program documentation.
- Maintain stakeholder and technical expert relationships.
- Identify process and communication gaps, and drive solutions to implement data center programs.
- Build and grow relationships between cross‑functional teams, improving communication.
- Draft program reporting for client management reviews, including program schedule, budget, performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Update quarterly forecasts, budget spend status, and obtain management approval on funding requests.
- Drive improvements in upgrade/retrofit program processes and documentation through stakeholder feedback and metric measurement.
- Develop plans for improved field execution and delivery while balancing schedule, productivity, and cost constraints.
- Provide project execution guidance throughout the end‑to‑end lifecycle and assess construction workarounds to avoid project delays.
- Lead the team—including stakeholders, project controls, contractor(s), and A&E design team—to create a Master Project Schedule and Master Project Budget.
- Evaluate technical issues and develop potential solutions for stakeholder review.
- Support the design team through schematic and design development reviews.
- Assist site teams with contractor pre‑qualification, bid solicitation, bid analysis, and recommendations.
- Participate in constructability reviews of project documents.
- Provide input on value engineering efforts.
- Lead teams in developing, assessing, and evaluating program and project risks.
- Manage program costs and change controls.
- Oversight of program dashboards and monthly program updates.
- Maintain lessons learned log for programs.
- Coordinate value engineering initiatives.
- Ensure document control processes at the program level.
- Ensure QA/QC compliance and report any issues or gaps.
- Coordinate all owner‑direct vendors, supply chain, and consultants.
- Establish documentation requirements and distribute to site teams for close‑out.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with 8-10 years of relevant experience, or a combination of experience and education.
- At least 3+ years of project or program management experience in data center infrastructure or critical environments.
- Innovative mindset capable of developing solutions beyond existing approaches.
- Strong problem‑solving skills using standard and innovative solutions with broad business impact.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Advanced organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset.
- Strong quantitative skills, including calculating percentages, fractions, and financial figures.
- Technical project management or coordination.
- Experience with construction related to data center or heavy industrial projects involving complex mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with business applications and tools such as Google Drive suite, Microsoft Office, and Primavera P6.
The minimum salary for this position is $160,000 annually and the maximum is $210,000 annually, with compensation commensurate with experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s benefit program.
