Join our small team that makes world class audio and video hardware and software for the business jet industry. We are looking for a skilled and customer focused Senior Systems Engineer to provide frontline technical support and troubleshooting, engage with customers to understand their needs, provide solutions, and represent Innovative Advantage at trade shows and industry events.
This role works closely with product development, sales, and support teams to ensure the successful implementation and optimization of our products and services.
- Work Days and
Hours:
Full time. Standard working hours are based on business needs. - Location:
Onsite in Kirkland, Washington - Compensation: $170,000 to $190,000 per year. Salary may be adjusted based on experience and geographic location outside of Kirkland, Washington.
- Work Eligibility:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and authorized to work in the United States. - Business Unit:
This position is under Heads Up Technologies and will support the Innovative Advantage business unit. - Employment Entity: A new employee to the organization will be employed by Innovative Advantage Inc.
- Travel:
Ability to travel up to 25 percent of the time to customer sites and industry events as needed, both within and outside the United States.
- Develop system level specifications, system architecture block diagrams, system solution proposals, and implementation plans.
- Collaborate with internal teams and provide guidance based on customer requirements for new and updated products.
- Set up and test proof of concept ideas for new products and system applications.
- Create AVDS system configuration files based on customer wiring and block diagrams.
- Create tradeshow and customer demo setups.
- Communicate with customers to understand technical requirements and business challenges.
- Assist customers in designing and implementing customized solutions that meet their specific needs.
- Share customer insights with internal teams to improve product design and the end user experience.
- Network and build relationships with target customers and related industry professionals.
- Stay current with industry trends, partners, and competitors.
- Support quotes and proposals based on customer input.
- Provide pre sales technical support, including tradeshow and customer demonstrations, technical presentations, product configurations, and solution guidance.
- Develop test cases and procedures to provide system level coverage for product development specifications.
- Establish new ways to improve, expand, and streamline system testing for products.
- Set up bench or SIL systems needed to recreate customer issues with specific configurations.
- Create and revise systems and qualification documentation for all products.
- Develop testing scripts in Python to enhance test coverage and enable automated testing capabilities.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring technical problems and work with teams to implement long term solutions.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting by email, phone, and Team Viewer for customers in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform software updates and diagnostic analysis on fielded systems.
- Resolve customer issues quickly and escalation complex problems to senior engineers or developers as necessary.
- Participate in the support on call rotation for nights and weekends.
- Bachelor of Science degree in a related engineering discipline.
- Eight or more years of Systems Engineering experience in an aerospace related field, with a strong focus on customer engagement.
- Experience with audio and video distribution technologies, cabin management systems, networking systems, and aircraft wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with Python, XML, databases, networking, and error log analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
- Ability to travel up to 25 percent of the time to customer sites and industry events as needed, both within and outside the United States.
- U.S. Citizenship and authorization to work in the United States.
- Experience supporting customer facing systems engineering activities in the business aviation or aerospace industry.
- Experience creating system level technical documentation, architecture diagrams, product configurations, and customer demo environments.
- Experience developing Python test scripts and supporting automated testing capabilities.
- Experience working closely with product development, sales, support, and engineering teams to resolve customer issues and improve product design.
- Experience with system integration, system level testing, qualification documentation, and root cause analysis.
