Transpo Group is looking for an entry level Transportation/Traffic Planner and Engineer who wants to join a dynamic organization with room for growth. The Planner/Engineer role will learn to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria, using educated judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. This position receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
All work is directed and reviewed by a Project Manager.

Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions. Preferred basic knowledge of industry software pertaining to engineering and/or planning. All work is directed and reviewed by a Project Manager.
- Contribute to traffic impact analysis, transportation plans, transit plans, and prepare documents to support P&E work and other transportation planning and engineering work.
- Visualize and illustrate a multi-dimensional problem (concept or design).
- Research, analyze, and interpret technical data to identify scope of problems and options for potential solutions.
- Identify specific information from a substantial amount of related data or written information in such sources as legal property descriptions, technical reports, field work, manuals and standard specifications, and apply technical expertise in a broad range of planning and engineering services.
- Maintain working knowledge of national standards (MUTCD, AASHTO), WSDOT, and other local agency standards.
- Read and understand the terminology and symbols used in topographic survey maps, GIS, field notes, plans, and aerial photographs to interpret the information for use in planning and designing transportation engineering solutions.
- Develop technical skill set focusing on increasing both breadth and depth.

- Develop an understanding of the "big picture" and how the tasks that are performed on a daily basis contribute to project success, business goals, and how it fits into engineering/planning in general.
- Provide quality control on own work and at peer level.

- 0-3 years of experience.
- Minimum BS/BA in transportation related fields.
- Preferred knowledge of industry software pertaining to transportation planning and engineering.
