This is a 12-month Temporary Full Time opportunity working Hybrid in Los Angeles (CA), Redwood City (CA), Kirkland (WA), Austin (TX), Orlando (FL), Vancouver (BC) or Edmonton (AB)
We are recruiting for a Map Environment Artist to join our growing team. As a Map Environment Artist on the project, you will be responsible for creating the map for every level of the game, and collaborating with the UI and Tech Design teams to maintain a high quality presentation. You will report to the Lead Environment Artist. This will require an understanding for modeling, texturing, and in Unreal Engine workflows.
The Star Wars galaxy offers a wide range of unique planets and locations to build, and we want you to be a part of it!
- You will design and build a polished 3D map environment specifically for UI and pause-menu presentation.
- You will create high-quality, believable 3D assets and materials that balance visual fidelity with clarity and usability.
- You will work closely with UI Designers, Technical Designers, and Art Leads to ensure seamless integration between UI systems and 3D world representation.
- You will collaborate with art direction and design leadership to align the map s look, scale, and mood with the game s overall vision.
- You will optimize assets to meet performance and memory budgets appropriate for UI contexts.
- You will implement assets in-engine, troubleshoot issues, and fix bugs as needed.
- You will follow production schedules and deliver assets while maintaining a high quality bar.
- 3+ years of professional experience as an Environment Artist or in a similar 3D art role for games.
- Strong proficiency in Maya, Blender (or equivalent 3D software), Substance, ZBrush, and Photoshop.
- Understanding of scale, proportion, and surface properties.
- Understanding of game engine tools and pipelines such as UE5, Maya, and other proprietary tools.
- Ability to take direction and iterate on assets to achieve AAA visual quality, with special attention to polish and presentation.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working across disciplines, particularly with UI and technical teams.

Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) $91,100 - $126,900 CAD
- California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. San Francisco) $101,700 - $151,900 USD
- Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane) $96,400 - $126,400 USD
