Senior Analyst / Associate – Asset Management
Washington, DC
About the OpportunityA leading real estate investment firm is seeking a Senior Analyst or Associate to join its Asset Management team in Washington, DC.
This individual will help drive the performance of a diversified multifamily portfolio, working closely with senior leadership, operating partners, property management teams, and other internal stakeholders. The role offers meaningful exposure to portfolio strategy, property operations, financial analysis, capital projects, and investment decision-making.
What You’ll Do- Monitor the financial and operational performance of multifamily investments.
- Analyze monthly operating results, leasing activity, market trends, budgets, and forecasts.
- Maintain asset-level financial models, valuations, and return analyses.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue, control expenses, and improve investment performance.
- Partner with property management teams to execute asset-level business plans.
- Support annual budgeting, reforecasting, and strategic planning.
- Evaluate capital projects, renovations, refinancing opportunities, and potential dispositions.
- Prepare portfolio reporting, investment updates, and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Conduct market research and competitive property analysis.
- Review operating agreements, loan documents, and other investment materials.
- Support due diligence and the transition of newly acquired assets into the portfolio.
- Approximately 2–6 years of experience in real estate asset management, acquisitions, investment analysis, or a related role.
- Multifamily investment or asset management experience strongly preferred.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with real estate investment software is a plus.
- Understanding of property-level financial statements, operating metrics, and investment returns.
- Ability to turn detailed analysis into clear recommendations.
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-management skills.
- A proactive, ownership-oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
