Position SummaryThe Dietary Services Manager is responsible for all food service and nutrition related activities, including patient and non‑patient care, quality improvement, sanitation, infection control, and all hospital‑related activities. The director ensures patient and customer satisfaction, maintains cost‑effective management, and fosters strong interdepartmental relations. In addition, the manager oversees the clinical nutrition program, managing Registered Dietitian staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining standards of care in accordance with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Key Responsibilities- Serve in a leadership role along with other department leaders.
- Develop and execute menu cycles to meet organizational needs and offer a variety of food and meal options, including therapeutic diets.
- Provide technical expertise in menu customization to meet specific nutritional needs.
- Ensure patient and customer satisfaction within all aspects of the Dietary Department.
- Direct and conduct safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs and trainings, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Comply with infection control, OSHA regulations, risk management, and meet JCAHO, CMS, and WA DOH standards.
- Display cost‑effective management.
- Lead the dietary team to maximize workflow, coaching employees to create universal expectations and processes.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nutrition Sciences or Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of dietary experience in a healthcare facility, with a concentration in nutrition assessment and planning.
- Registered Dietitian and Certified Dietitian in WA required.
- Must obtain CPR, First Aid, Handle with Care, and Verbal De‑Escalation certifications provided by the facility upon hire.
