OBGYN Care - Surgery Scheduler; FTE

Wage Range: $26.16 - $41.82 per hour

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.

Responsible for scheduling all inpatient, outpatient surgery center, and outpatient clinic procedures with standards established by Evergreen Health Surgical Services, Evergreen Health Surgical Center and Evergreen Health Women’s and Maternity Care. Responsible for obtaining necessary insurance pre-authorizations. Assists in other clerical duties required for the efficient operations of the clinic.

• Schedules surgeries in accordance with availability of space, staffing and equipment, for surgical cases done at Evergreen Health for inpatient, outpatient surgery center, and outpatient clinic procedures.
• Schedules procedures via phone, answering inbound calls or initiating outbound calls.
• Completes pre-registration of patients at the point of scheduling, over the phone.
• Demonstrates knowledge of insurance payers and the use of electronic systems for verification purpose.
• Works cooperatively with the schedulers at Evergreen Health surgical facilities.
• Obtains insurance prior authorizations.
• Obtains insurance benefits, including estimation of copays and deductibles and communicates same to patient.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED for the position:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• 2 years of scheduling experience in a medical environment
• Previous experience in office support or administrative role
• Strong medical terminology, including anatomy and physiology.
• Possess verbal and written skills to efficiently communicate and process information regarding patients

DESIRED for the position:

• College or vocational training in medical terminology/insurance and billing
• Experience with surgery scheduling
• Knowledge of Medicare, DSHS, and other third party reimbursement regulations
