The Systems Administrator is responsible for providing essential technological support to ensure that services align with organizational goals, drive operational efficiency, optimization, and maintain data security and integrity. The Systems Administrator will maintain software and hardware systems while providing daily direction and collaboration for activities of the Information Services department. This role exercises independent judgment in evaluating system performance, identifying risks, and recommending technology solutions that support organizational effectiveness, data security, and long-term scalability.

Administer and support core Microsoft, Apple, and IoT devices.
Act as the primary liaison with technology partners to support effective system implementation, design, recommend cost‑effective solutions, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Plan and manage budget assessments for future hardware and software upgrades, replacements, and cloud system projects.
Provide help desk support as needed for the agency, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
Develop and deliver training for staff on systems and tools.
Maintain cloud services, on-prem servers, and endpoints, making necessary configuration adjustments.
Implement cybersecurity best practices and incident response protocols.
Oversee system upgrades, testing, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
Provide point of contact for special events and Board meetings set up needs.
Monitor essential systems and respond to urgent help requests during on-call hours.
Assist with after-hours events, providing technical consultation and coordination.

job requirementsEducation and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field.
Relevant information technology certifications are a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience as an IT engineer/administrator.
Preference for experience with Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, Credible, and or Net Suite administrative duties.
Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or education sectors preferred.
Additional RequirementsMust satisfactorily pass criminal history check. Must satisfactorily pass tuberculosis (TB) test.
Must have reliable transportation and a valid Washington State driver's license (or be able to obtain one by date of employment).
Employees and volunteers who operate their own or Friends of Youth vehicles on Friends of Youth business; must have a safe driving record as defined by Friends of Youth.
Employees and volunteers who operate their own vehicle(s) on Friends of Youth business must carry auto liability insurance that complies with the requirements of Friends of Youth.
Must successfully complete the following health certification requirements within 30 days of employment: CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens.

Strong knowledge of systems architecture, infrastructure design, and systems integration.
Knowledge of scripting languages and basic programming in environments such as Power Shell.
