Job Summary
The Sr RF Technician is responsible for the daily analysis, coordination, and execution of maintenance activities relating to the RF Network – Gateways, Routers, GMRs, and Meters. This includes performing tests, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of network devices and systems. The role participates in daily planning and strategy sessions, provides input and helps formulate courses of action, responds to emergencies, coordinates work with Network Engineer I and Meter Technicians, maintains accuracy of information, operates the bucket truck, performs on‑call duties, maintains maintenance logs, supports warehouse and inventory needs of network devices, performs field investigations of meters and network devices, conducts network optimization studies and analysis, and helps train new employees and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities- Support the Network Refresh project, optimize the network, and operate & maintain the network including endpoints.
- Use a laptop computer, proprietary, and nonproprietary software (Tech Studio/Radioshop) and hardware to communicate with the network and endpoint devices.
- 2‑year degree from a technical institution, military training, or at least 5 years of related industry experience.
- Experience in MS Office packages and ability to learn customized computer software. Knowledge of UNIX, Oracle, and QHSE is required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency with MS Office and willingness to learn customized software.
- Familiarity with Tech Studio, Radioshop, SQL, and QHSE.
- Solid computer knowledge and keyboard/typing skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Availability for on‑call duty and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to work wearing safety equipment, on ladders, in inclement weather, and operate a bucket truck.
Physical Requirements
- Typical field setting; regularly stand, walk, crouch, climb ladders or handle objects.
- Regularly lift and/or move 20‑50 pounds.
- Work in open environments with external noise and other distractions.
- Daily driving of company vehicle required.
- Use of personal protective equipment such as hard hats, work boots, gloves, hearing protection, and other safety gear. Must be current with OSHA/Safety training provided by the Company.
Pay is in the range of $62,500 - $79,000 per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus.
