Database Administrator vacancy in Washington USA

We are in search of a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's databases and ensuring their optimal performance.

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of all databases. You will also be involved in database security management and data backup and recovery processes. Your duties will include monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and developing solutions to improve database functionality.

To excel in this role, you must have a strong understanding of database management systems and experience with SQL programming. You should also possess excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. A degree in computer science or a related field is preferred but not required.

• Design, develop, implement and maintain company databases
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
• Develop solutions to optimize database functionality
• Conduct regular backups of data to ensure data recovery
• Ensure data security by managing access permissions and privileges
• Collaborate with other teams to identify system requirements
• Train employees on database usage and best practices
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies in the field of database management

• Proven work experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
• Experience with SQL programming
• Familiarity with database design principles
• Knowledge of data backup and recovery processes
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (preferred)
