Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in product design or UX.
• 3 years of experience leading design projects and managing people or teams.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working in AI assisted workflows for designers with portfolio examples highlighting functional prototypes or shipped work.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of designers, researchers, engineers, content strategists and product managers.
• Experience designing for native mobile applications across a variety of device types.
• Experience designing features and shepherding that work through the full life-cycle of design from kickoff through implementation as a Senior level IC and as a front line manager.
• Experience in conversational design, content design, or the design of communications products.

Messages is Google's largest and fastest-growing texting app, approaching a user base of two billion. While we are building the future of modern messaging across the global ecosystem, we are in need for a design leader to run the Messages Monetization and Protection pillar (MMP). As part of Rich Communication Services (RCS) for Business, you will lead the design team pioneering the next wave of global conversational commerce—enabling rich, interactive, and AI-driven shopping and customer experiences inside the native texting app for both Android and iOS users.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $188000 - $274000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
