We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate General Counsel to join our legal team in Kirkland, WA. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in our Kirkland office. This position will provide strategic legal support across various facets of the business, with a focus on franchise agreements, pole attachment/joint use agreements and management, regulatory compliance, litigation management, and supporting the local government affairs team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications law, including regulatory compliance, transactional support, and dispute resolution.

• Regulatory Compliance: Advise on legal and regulatory issues related to telecommunications law, including Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations, state public utility laws, and industry-specific policies.
• Contract Negotiation and Drafting: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including franchise agreements, pole attachment/joint use agreements, and general agreements with municipal and external infrastructure organizations.
• Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Manage and oversee the company’s litigation matters, including disputes related to telecommunications services, contracts, and regulatory compliance. Work closely with outside counsel as needed.
• Mergers & Acquisitions: Assist in mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions, providing legal analysis and guidance through all stages of deal‑making.
• Risk Management: Provide advice on risk management strategies, identifying potential legal risks, and recommending steps to mitigate them.
• Licensing and Permitting: Support and ensure compliance with applicable licenses, permits, and regulatory approvals needed to operate in various jurisdictions.
• Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal departments, including regulatory affairs, government relations, and business development teams, to align legal strategies with business goals. Support local government affairs teams with municipal relations.
• Policy Advocacy: Assist in the development of internal policies and participate in advocacy efforts on telecommunications-related legislative and regulatory matters.
• Additional Duties: Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as an attorney, with a significant portion of that time spent advising clients in the telecommunications industry or a closely related field.
• In-depth knowledge of telecommunications law, including regulatory and transactional matters.
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating contracts and agreements.
• Strong litigation experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
