Position Summary

Astronics AES in Redmond is hiring a Repair Station Test Operator for the Weekend Shift. Hours are Friday - Sunday, 5:30 am - 6:00 pm. Work 36 hours get paid for 40. The Test Operator should have a general mechanical/electrical aptitude, seeking further guidance from trained technicians as required. They will carry out duties with an emphasis on 5s, safety, and quality. This role will follow set procedures and standard operational guidelines.

Job Functions
  • Perform set-up and routine go/no-go tests of circuits and mechanical assemblies
  • Control operations of equipment or systems such as HASS chambers, HiPot, and ATE’s
  • Set up test devices using hand tools or automatic test methods
  • Document test results
  • May maintain logs and records indicating malfunctions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrates familiarity (typically 1‑2 years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position).

  • Problem Sensitivity – Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem and notifying appropriate people.

  • Operation Monitoring – Watching indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
  • Quality Control Analysis – Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
  • Test Resource Management – determine the most efficient use of test resources to match or meet production flow requirements
  • Selective Attention – The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
  • Controlling Machines and Processes – Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
Technical Skills
  • Data base user interface software
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Microsoft Windows
  • Electrical knowledge is a plus
Physical Abilities
  • Manual dexterity
  • Lifting heavy items (typically 40 lbs.)
  • Near vision
  • Color and brightness differentiation – the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness
Work Environment
  • Possible exposure to high voltage
  • Possible exposure to LN2
  • Moderate noise environment
Employment Eligibility Requirements
  • Employment is contingent upon the employee’s authorization to access items subject to U.S. export‑control laws as a U.S. Department of Defense contractor.
  • Offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre‑employment background screen and a drug test including cannabis.
  • Per 48 CFR § 252.223‑7004 this is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug tests.
Salary

$22.50 – $33.75 per hour. Mid‑point is $28.12. Salary influenced by experience, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, market conditions and business needs.
