We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Leo satellites. The success of Leo depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products that you deliver. - Integration and test of the LEO satellite and various complex subassemblies in a cleanroom and ESD controlled environment
- Rigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive hardware
- Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, multimeters, optical inspection devices, micrometers and calipers
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions
- Run functional and environmental testing on units
- Use computer software programs for conducting tests
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient, safe and effective work environment
- Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, a U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Willing to work all shifts, overtime and weekends as needed. Estimated shift times: 1st shift Sun-Wed (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM). Shifts may vary, depending on program needs.
- Able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive assembly operations
- Able to climb and down ladders, work in tight spaces, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position.
- Able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted
- Must be willing to travel up to 5% to different sites and for training
- Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
- Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating / manufacturing environment
- 4+ years of aerospace manufacturing
- Experience with environmental testing - vibration, shock, thermal, EMI/EMC, etc.
- Experience conducting structural, mechanical or electrical systems integration testing
- Demonstrated ability to follow electromechanical test requirements
- Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
- Experience with forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment (including previous certifications)
- A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Knowledge of electrical, optical and mechanical systems, antennas, functional testing and/or satellite components
- Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments
