JOB SUMMARY

Performs functions associated with raw and finished goods materials within the operation. Completes Material transactions in Sage 50 accounting system. Responsible for delivering materials to the production floor quickly and accurately. Works independently to execute required production operation materials as well as performing daily cycle counts and quality related to the production of parts, components, and final assemblies.

Maintains stockroom organization and ensures stockroom operating efficiency. Works collaboratively with production associates, quality, and leadership to execute on production requirements. Supports shipping & receiving staff with shipping & receiving related activities as needed. Supports product development experimentation and operational improvement initiatives as requested. Participate in teams to identify opportunities for improvements within the production area. May assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the production process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below-mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.

  • Properly handle and sort all production material to allow the materials to be recycled.
  • Maintain Material requirements for production by keeping up with the material replenishment schedules.
  • Identify gating items
  • Setting and maintaining bin min-max quantity
  • Monitor material shortages
  • Place incoming merchandise in proper location
  • Removing materials from boxes and pallets
  • Printing labels and applying them
  • Scanning items to enter them into the inventory system
  • Placing inventory in storage areas within the warehouse
  • Filling shelves, rack, and bins with materials
  • Restocking materials that are not needed in production
  • Disposing of empty boxes, packaging, and pallets
  • Utilize basic mechanical tools, electrical tools, measurement devices, packaging equipment, tape guns, and hand tools.
  • Operates warehouse machinery, including but not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, & cherry pickers.
  • Issue number of materials ordered on requisition and production pick list
  • Perform daily cycle count for inventory accuracy and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Supports shipping & receiving staff with shipping & receiving activities as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment
  • Suggests continual Improvement opportunities while performing various tasks within the plant.
  • Un-carton/unwrap materials and inspect for defects and damage
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized warehouse
  • Always maintain and promote a safe environment. Identify, address, and react to any unsafe or hazardous situation.
  • Report all non-conformance to the Quality Inspector and complete NCM as appropriate.
  • Ensure that processes are executed in a manner which supports all JENRAY Quality Standards.
  • Able to work independently with little supervision on routine tasks within scope
    of training
    • Able to make advance process decisions within the area of training. Partner with senior level Material Handler or Supervisor in decision making process.
    • Active participation in managed daily improvement process.
    • Maintain and execute 5S within work area
    • Complete all training requirements in a timely manner and maintain accurate training records.
    • Conduct inventory transactions to maintain integrity of inventory system
    • Timely and complete processing of work tickets transactions utilizing the accounting system.
    • Ability to adhere to standardized production schedule for position and ability to work overtime to support production needs as necessary.

  • Sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects. Tools, or controls.
  • Stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Lifting/moving and carrying products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration and/or moderate noise levels.
