Responsibilities

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Nurse looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of adolescents and young adults? Newport Healthcare is seeking an enthusiastic RN to provide on-site nursing and care in our supportive and nurturing facilities. If you are passionate about helping young individuals navigate their health journeys, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Do:

    • Administer medications and monitor vital signs, ensuring accurate documentation in medical records.
    • Evaluate medical complaints and concerns from residents, effectively communicating with our Nurse Practitioners and Physicians.
    • Develop and implement treatment plans, providing direct care and nursing services as prescribed.
    • Monitor chronic health conditions, respiratory distress, and seizures, ensuring timely interventions.
    • Maintain comprehensive medical records and logs, adhering to all mandated reporting and infection control protocols.
    • Collaborate with Behavioral Care Staff regarding medication management and refills.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, contributing your expertise to enhance patient care.

Schedule/Shift Details:

  • 2 days per week
    - Saturday/Sunday overnights (11:00pm-7:00am)
Qualifications
    • Education:

      Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a Nursing Degree;
    • Licensure:

      Current RN licensure with the State Board of Nursing is a must.
    • Experience:

      Experience in healthcare, especially with teens or young adults, is preferred.
    • Communication

      Skills:

      Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to make sound judgment calls in high-pressure scenarios.
    • Team Player:

      A positive attitude and a commitment to teamwork, fostering a collaborative environment.
    • Computer

      Skills:

      Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
    • Crisis Management:

      Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team in emergent situations.
    • Quality Focus:

      A proactive mindset that seeks to improve quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.

Pay range for this position is $39 to $59 depending on education and experience.
