Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving and developing departmental continuous improvement initiatives and support implementation.
  • Operating environmental test chambers (thermal cycling, vacuum, HALT/HASS). Lead process work and review output for quality and adherence to standards and procedures.
  • Assembling tooling and assisting with equipment maintenance.
  • Facilitating daily team meetings, end‑of‑shift reporting, and coordinating efforts to minimize production interruptions.
  • Supporting new‑hire training programs within the department and contributing to development and modification of training materials.
  • Driving safety standards and operations protocols while ensuring team compliance.

Additional requirements:

  • Willingness to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed (4/10s shift: Back Half Nights Wed‑Sat 4 pm – 2:30 am).
  • Standing for long periods, climbing ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required.
  • Willingness to move between locations depending on program needs.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
  • Candidates must be 18 years or older and able to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

A day in the life

The Lead Space Simulation Technician will identify process improvements to improve build efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with multiple engineering teams on early hardware development testing and setting the stage for later production hardware manufacturing processes. The successful candidate thrives in a fast‑paced, start‑up‑like environment and applies technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to quality to positively impact team metrics and organization goals.

About the team

We are a group of technicians with well over 20 years of diverse skills and experience. Each team member brings a willingness to train and positive team energy. Some tasks may be performed as an individual contributor, while others involve working in a group environment to achieve organizational goals. The team is currently focused on research and development while moving toward a production environment.

Location & compensation

  • USA, WA, Kirkland – 30.00 – 50.00 USD hourly.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years relevant high traceability manufacturing experience (aerospace, medical, etc.).
  • 3+ years hands‑on work in a test lab environment using basic hand tools.
  • 3+ years experience in a fast‑paced production environment with flight hardware.
  • Minimum 3 years of environmental test experience performing at least one of the following: vibration testing, shock testing, acoustic testing, thermal testing, thermal vacuum testing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years prior leadership experience, including leading teams, projects, or people.
  • Experience bringing teams and processes from development to production.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering documentation and/or drawings.
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD‑sensitive hardware, and clean‑room requirements.
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high‑paced, challenging environment.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a complex, fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient use and understanding of DMM, torque wrenches, calipers, and other measuring devices.
  • Experience installing instrumentation such as accelerometers, thermocouples, etc.
  • Understanding of 5S and lean principles.
